These terms govern your use of the Dogbox Accounting software ("the Software") and the website at dogboxsoftware.com.au ("the Site"), operated by Dogbox Software (ABN 40 986 160 328). By downloading or using the Software, or by using the Site, you agree to these terms.
Subject to these terms and payment of any applicable licence fee, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on computers you own or control, for your own legitimate business or personal purposes.
You may not sublicense, sell, rent, or redistribute the Software, nor reverse-engineer it beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
Dogbox Accounting is available on a permanently free Free Tier, which includes invoicing, quotes, bills, bank reconciliation, BAS/GST reporting, contacts, reports, and expense claims.
A Pro Tier subscription provides additional features including email delivery of documents, jobs and scheduling, recurring transactions, inventory, purchase orders, fixed assets, budget, and warranty tracking. During the alpha period (until 30 September 2026), all users receive full Pro Tier access at no charge. After that, Pro Tier pricing is as listed on the pricing page and may be updated with reasonable notice.
Cancelling a Pro subscription downgrades the account to the Free Tier. Your data remains fully accessible at all times regardless of tier — your .dbox file is never locked or deleted.
All data you create in the Software is stored in a .dbox file on your own computer. You are responsible for maintaining adequate backups of your data. We have no access to your data and accept no liability for data loss caused by hardware failure, accidental deletion, or any other cause.
The Software is a tool to assist with bookkeeping and accounting. It does not constitute financial, tax, or legal advice. You should consult a registered accountant or tax agent for advice specific to your circumstances, particularly regarding BAS lodgements, payroll obligations, and financial reporting requirements.
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. You use the Software at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Dogbox Software will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Software or the Site, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law (for example, under the Australian Consumer Law), our liability is limited to resupplying the Software or paying the cost of having the Software resupplied.
We may release updates to the Software from time to time. We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. Material changes will be notified by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
